Problem Solvers

The purpose of this site is to solve problems by:

1. Giving the university community a single point of entry for problem solving.
2. Making sure the submitted problem goes to the appropriate individual or individuals who can most effectively solve the problem.
3. Ensuring that if the problem needs multiple unit participation that the correct units are engaged in the effort.
4.

Ensuring feedback to the individual or individuals who submitted the problem.

Problems coming to this site will be examined and every effort made to find a permanent solution to the problem.  Occasionally a perceived problem is created by process and there is no easy solution.  If a situation such as this occurs then the process will be examined for possible change or, a rational explanation of the situation will be given so that we at least understand the guidelines under which we must operate.

There are some problems, which may not be addressed by this mechanism.  These may include problems with co-workers, supervisors and grievances.  This type of situation usually has an existing procedure in place for each unit within the university and the Problem Solvers will not in anyway interfere in that type of problem solving.  There may however, be situations where a process leads to misunderstandings between individuals and this type of situation might be suitable for the Problem Solvers to address.
